About
Preeti Rana documents the impact of ancient Indian music and sacred literature. Her paintings first emerged from the meditative and tonal discipline of Dhrupad to segue into the philosophical depth of Vedanta.
Her work was first noticed at the Khajuraho Music and Art Festival to be then shown as a solo exhibition at the Tansen Music Festival, Gwalior (2017). She exhibited at the Indian Embassy in Bahrain at its inauguration by (late) Hon.Minister of External Affairs Smt. Sushma Swaraj in 2018 Her entries to the London Art Biennale (2019) won a prize.
Solo exhibitions have been at The Nehru Centre, London, and the Consulate General, Edinburgh, bringing Dhrupad music into cultural awareness. She exhibited at India International Centre, New Delhi (2023), inaugurated by the former Ambassador to Bahrain, with guests including Dhrupad maestro Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar.
She believes the Indian artist holds a unique place to convey universality through the cadence of India’s deep Vedantic roots. ---- Archival fine-art prints, made to order. Each print issued with a digital certificate of authenticity, signed by the artist.
